1997 John Starnes’ Garden Doctor

John's magazines typically came with two or three small coin envelopes filled with seeds that he thought were relevant to the publication. He identified them by creating pulp from a plant and adding water. He then dipped his fingers into the mixture and put 1, 2 or 3 fingerprints on the envelope, which he referenced on a page in the magazine.  It saved him a lot of time writing names on all the little envelopes. It was such a inventive idea. (And, as a subscriber, it was my favorite part of the magazines. - This was before the internet and it was hard to find certain seeds locally. MJ)
